GENUINE'S RATTLER 110

OK, I gave in...I broke down and bought myself what I consider the ultimate "cool" Genuine Scooter. Of course...things I think are "cool" are likely not, according to the trend setters of today...doesn't matter, I'm married, have two crazy kids, own a small business and drive a truck that gets up to 12 mpg...I'm not phased by much. You will see from the photos attached that I am still stuck in my little off-road world, in fact, my Rattler 110 even has a reservoir shock....cooooool.

60 MPH, tuck position, 2-stroke motor singing it's tune...this little scooter kicks butt. Sure I have manly men with lifted diesel trucks laughing at me ...they just don't see the grin on my face when I'm getting over 70 mpg (miles per gallon limited to my overly agressive throttle hand) and zipping in and out of long traffic lines. I dont intend on painting mossy-oak camo on my scooter (a local favorite), so I guess I'm not hip to the local scene...but thats how I roll...a rebel...just like Pee Wee Herman...well, maybe more like Herman Munster...either way...I'm having a BLAST!

A little about the Rattler 110: 2-stroke (no mixing necessary) 110, digital dash, lots of storage, what I like to call a FOHLINS rear Reservoir Shock (fake Ohlins), tons of low end snap for instant green light take offs. Wide Bars, and a bit of bling. All of the Genuine line of Scooters have excellent fit and finish, so, I expected this. What does surprise me though, is how easy it wheelies...

...So far, I've been packing my oldest son (9 year old) back and forth to school and the ride, while slightly cramped, is still comfortable and the scooter still has ample pull off the line. I think the fact that it feels cramped is mainly due to my sons concern of falling off the back...this should be resolved when I install a top case.

On the Plus Side: all items mentioned above

On the Minus Side: Because I'm having so much fun, my throttle hand does not allow the best gas mileage. I also notice a bit more vibration at speed than I thought would be there, likely due to the shorter wheel base and potent 110 2 stroke motor.

First Upgrades: Rear Rack (already done), Top Case (more storage and a secure feeling for the passenger), Coffee cup holder...I have to figure this one out...I hate not being able to bring my coffee from home into work.

OVERALL: I am very pleased that I picked this Scooter as my choice. Since I have an MC license, I dont have to restrict my scooter size to 50cc. With my size (6ft and 220 lbs), a 50 cc may have left me wishing for more.

Bike Barn Test: Leatt Neck Brace

With little kids, a business to run and turning the big 4-0...I figured the Leatt Brace is probably a good investment, even if I never know if it works.
